Grace Carter SOPRANO
English soprano Grace Carter began her musical career as a pianist at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland studying with John Thwaites. She is currently a member of the Dutch National Opera Academy, studying with Alison Wells and Roberta Alexander.
Recent engagement highlights include the Fairy Queen- Purcell with Bury Court Opera and the Southbank Sinfonia, Nominee for the Maggie Teyte Prize at the Royal Opera House, Messiah- Handel at St-Martin-in-the-Fields and Finalist in the Lillian Ash French Song and Elizabeth Schumann Lieder prizes.
Recent roles and scenes performed include Ilia in Idomeneo (Mozart), Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart),Adina in l'Elisir d'Amore (Donizetti), Venus in Orpheus in the Underworld (Offenbach), First Niece in Peter Grimes (Britten), and Ellen in Lakmé (Delibes).
Grace has performed in masterclasses with Rosemary Joshua (London Handel Festival), Malcolm Martineau, James Gilchrist, Eugene Asti, Ian Partridge, and James Bowman.
