Jonathan Alley BARITONE
Australian baritone Jonathan Alley graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. During his studies he performed lead roles in Going into Shadows, Semele, Les Mamelle di Tirésias and L’enfant et les Sortilège. Jonathan has been a finalist in the Australian National Eisteddfod Aria Competition, Dame Joan Sutherland Vocal Competition, City of Sydney Aria, The Opera and Arts Support Group Vocal Scholarship.
He has performed with both Opera Queensland and Opera Australia and in 2010, Jonathan was a member of Opera Australia’s Schools’ Touring Company, Ozopera, singing the role of, Ricardo in The Sound Garden.
In September of 2010, Jonathan was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Northern College of Music, under the tutelage of Peter Alexander Wilson). In March 2011, Jonathan was the winner of the prestigious, Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss at the RNCM.
Roles include, Captain Onegin, Commissario La Traviata, Tenebrun Don Quichotte (Grange Park Opera), Mr. Gedge Albert Herring, Morales Carmen, Elviro, Serse (RNCM), Dulcamara L’elisir d’amore (Mananan Festival), Aeneas Dido & Aeneas (ABC National Broadcast).
